They reduced the massive weight of the traditional corbel arch by reducing its span with a dividing wall and the use of tribolated hollows that minimized the stress on load bearing walls. This allowed the Palenque builders to construct buildings with multiple piers and doorways on the front to let air and light into the interior. Mansard roofs decorated with stucco carvings and horizontal mouldings gave the Palenque structures a pleasing linear appearance.

A city declared by UNESCO as World Heritage site. Built on the silver mines, Taxco is a jewel with its topography, its architecture and small streets narrower than those of Quebec City where even Volkbugs are struggling to move. During your visit we have reserved for you a hotel directly on the zocalo in the historic centre. One of the pleasures of your visit will be to take advantage of good prices in jewellery and to explore the city on foot. A breakfast at a hotel you can reach by cable and a visit to the cave Cacahuimilpa, a cave which is more spectacular than the caves of Carlsbad in the United States are included.
